Tickets are only available upon successful application – Application Form

Overview:

This is an interactive short course comprised of four sessions that build consecutively upon each other over four Saturdays (online). The course introduces the spiritual theology of the Dark Night of the Soul, inviting practitioners’ exploration of spiritual suffering within personal and professional practice contexts.

Employing narrative, the power of images, spiritual practices and song, this short course engages learners’ personal and professional wisdom, the shared experience of global pandemic, and palliative and end of life clinical scenarios to facilitate understanding of: the characteristics of Dark Night (assessment), the contemplative competencies required to accompany the spiritual sufferer inclusive of supporting spiritual practices (intervention), and the similarities and differences between the Dark Night and clinical depression (differentiation).

Who is this course intended for?

This course is aimed at participants in professional practice. This may include health care professionals, particularly those in palliative and end of life care, counsellors, spiritual directors, chaplains, and other practitioners whose knowledge and practice will be enhanced by a deeper understanding of Dark Night theology.
