Women & Diakonia 2: a Global Perspective Following the October Synod

The conference highlighted the urgent topic of a proper ecclesial context for women’s ministry in the Church, and was timed to respond to the final Rome Synod that was held in October.  The speakers included Prof Bernard Pottier SJ, Dr Dominic White, and Maronite theologians Prof Souraya Bechealany and Maryse Saghbini, who brought an Eastern Catholic perspective. The day culminated with the annual Mary Ward lecture given by expert theologian on women and the diaconate, Prof Phyllis Zagano.
