A study day exploring Pope Francis’ theology, ecclesiology and ethics.
It will focus on mission and spirituality in the Pontificate of Pope Francis (with references to Evangelii Gaudium and Gaudete et Exsultate) and his perspective on ethics (with references to Amoris Laetitia, Laudato Si and Fratelli Tutti).

About the presenters
Dr Peter Coughlan was Under-Secretary of the Pontifical Council for the Laity from 1980 to 1991. During this period, he was also a consultor of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, and a member of the Joint Working Group between the Roman Catholic Church and the World Council of Churches (headquartered in Geneva). In recent years Peter has taught ecclesiology, ecumenism and ethics at Heythrop College, University of London. Peter is Senior Fellow at Margaret Beaufort Institute of Theology, Cambridge. His presentation will focus on the Pope’s ecclesiological and theological legacy.
Dr Anna Abram is Principal of the Margaret Beaufort Institute of Theology, Cambridge. She was Head of Pastoral and Social Studies Department and Senior Lecturer in Ethics/Christian Ethics at Heythrop College, University of London. She is Co-Founder and Co-Editor of Bloomsbury Studies in Global Ethics. She was Associate Editor of European Journal for Philosophy of Religion and International Editor of Forum Philosophicum. Her presentation will focus on the ethical legacy of Pope Francis.
