The study day aims to help participants ‘befriend’ icons and explore them further. Icons are firmly rooted in Orthodox Christian worship and act as witnesses to the Incarnation. This course will explore these topics but also encourage students to appreciate how icons can be used in catechetical work, spiritual retreats, counselling, as well as collective and individual prayer. The course aims to help student better understand how icons can inspire our ‘spiritual imagination’ in surprisingly creative ways.
