The course will introduce students to the mystery of the Incarnation, the Person and Natures in Christ (including major heresies to be avoided), Christ’s grace and knowledge, his unity of being, unity of two wills and two operations, his prayer, Christ as priest and mediator, certain mysteries of Christ’s life such as his baptism and Transfiguration, as well as his passion, death, resurrection, ascension, and coming again as judge.

This course will primarily utilize St. Thomas’s Summa theologiae, and will include opportunities for discussion and questions.

This course will be recorded and the course material will be available via a portal.

2 The Mode of Union and What was Assumed; The Grace of Christ as an Individual Man and as Head of the Church

3 Christ’s Knowledge

4 The Power of Christ’s Soul; The Defects (Limitations) of Body and Soul Assumed by the Son of God

5 Communication of Idioms (Properties); Christ’s Unity of Being; Christ’s Unity of Wills and Operations

6 Christ’s Subjection to the Father, Prayer, Priesthood, and Mediator

7 Christ’s Actions and Passion, as well as its Effects

8 Christ’s Death, Resurrection, and Ascension, Return of Christ as Judge
