Study Day: Looking Inside a Kaleidoscope—Exploring the World of Medieval Sermon During this course, we will explore the fascinating phenomenon of medieval sermon, or sermo moderna, through a case study of Peregrine of Opole's (c. 1260–c. 1333) Sermon for the Feast of Annunciation. We will familiarise ourselves with the history of development of this literary genre, appreciate the mastery of its structure, explore the medieval authors' spirituality and imagination, and recognise the long-lasting influence of this tradition.
