‘Faith in Art: Crossing Boundaries between Philosophical and Theological Aesthetics’

My current book research focusses on the prevalent gap between philosophical and theological aesthetics and explore the ways in which each could benefit from the other in terms of a better understanding of the role of faith and religion in art. Drawing on philosophers Merleau-Ponty and Susanne Langer I discuss how the arts can capture lived human experience including lived religious experience, that is, the way we experience God and religion pre-analytically and affectively.
