This autumn we are marking the 46th anniversary of the election of Professor Nicholas Lash (1934-2020) to the Norris Hulse Chair of Divinity in the University of Cambridge.

Our Institute proudly holds the Lash Library collection. The library is located in our new home, in the Taylor Room (a room named after one of our alumna, trustee and great supporter of our Institute, Anne Taylor) . Lash Library Is a member of the British and Philosophical Libraries (ABTAPL) https://www.abtapl.org.uk/institution/lash-library-margaret-beaufort-institute-of-theology/ It is curated by Susanne Jennings and can be visited by appointment (info@mbit.cam.ac.uk )

On 7 November, at 6 pm Fisher House (Guildhall Street, Cambridge CB2 3NH), our close partner, will host the first Nicholas Lash Memorial Lecture. The lecture ‘Nicholas Lash, the Church and Synodality: ‘Truth is wrought out by many minds working together freely’ (John Henry Newman)’ will be delivered by Dr John McDade, former principal of Heythrop College.
