Prayer is at the heart of Margaret Beaufort Institute of Theology.  We have an oratory within the house, where the Blessed Sacrament is reserved.  When COVID-19 restrictions are eased we will be able to go back to our regular practice of Adoration each week during the term-time.  At the moment, it is available for private prayer for the residents and staff of the house.

Our Chapel is also now our library.  This has become a multi-purpose space, combining an area for worship, with our extensive library collection.  The opportunity to combine our studies and our liturgies feeds and blesses both activities.  This year, all our regular Thursday evening liturgies during term-time will be online. We are looking forward to when we can return to celebrating the Eucharist in the Library Chapel in the future.

If you would like to receive an invite to our online community prayer, Thursdays 6.00pm during term time, please email

Many of our courses and events can help support personal prayer.  It is worth looking at the Spirituality courses as well as the Retreats and study days that we have on offer.
